The Australian Cotton Industry Awards on Wednesday July 26 was held in Griffith for the first time, and proved to be an exciting event for MIA cotton growers.
The award was presented before more than 380 cotton growers and industry representatives who gathered at the Exies to celebrate the recipients at a ceremony held in Griffith.
This award recognises a grower who demonstrates high levels of achievement in all aspects of cotton production.
Cavaso Farming is an irrigated cropping enterprise on 4200 hectares across eight properties at Darlington Point and Coleambally.
After growing their first cotton crop just seven years ago, the Toscan family have achieved impressive results and demonstrated an innovative approach to cotton.
The Awards program recognises excellence and achievement in Australia’s cotton industry throughout the supply chain, from growers and ginners to product suppliers, consultants, agronomists and researchers.
“We had a substantial number of strong nominations for the Awards program this year, and all are deserving,” Mr Kay said.
“Our recipients this year are a great example of the commitment of everyone throughout the cotton supply chain. I congratulate them all.”
