Members recently participated in an abseiling day at Scenic Hill in Griffith, scaling 15-metre heights and conquering their fears.
Abseiling is just one of the many fun activities Leeton Cubs, Scouts and Venturers are able to participate in.
The groups meet weekly during school terms on a Tuesday at 6pm, Wednesday and 7pm and Thursday at 6pm, respectively.
Scout leader Adrian van Werven said new members were welcome to head along a try out a group without any obligation.
“The game of Scouting is all about fun and learning by doing so in a small team environment,” he said.
“Scouting has a strong emphasis on the outdoors and being comfortable in it, including canoeing, caving, abseiling, camping and hiking and 1st Leeton participates in all these and more.
“While we generally leave the X-Box behind, there is scope to complete activities befitting today’s great social age.” Head to a session to find out more.
