The clock is ticking, but business owners and staff should get in now if they want to nominate for the NSW Business Chamber Murray-Riverina Regional Business awards.
While Leeton didn’t host its own awards this year, eligible businesses still have the chance to have their efforts recognised by the wider community.
Now in its fifth year, the Murray-Riverina Regional Business Awards recognise excellence in business, leadership, entrepreneurship, sustainability, innovation, business growth and employment practices across the region.
NSW Business Chamber acting regional manager Murray-Riverina, Naomi Stuart said it was more important than ever for Leeton businesses to nominate.
“As there were no awards held by the Leeton Business Chamber this year, their members can (still) enter directly into the Murray-Riverina awards,” she said.
“Where a local chamber awards program does not exist, (their) members can enter directly into the NSW Business Chamber Awards at a regional level.
“This will apply to Leeton Business Chamber members this year.”
The regional awards help to gain recognition at a local, regional and state level, raise the profile of businesses and can help build a reputation for excellence inside and outside of an industry.
In the past, Leeton shire businesses have performed well at the regional awards.
“Leeton has a pretty good track record at these awards, (so) what does that mean for a town the size of Leeton?” Ms Stuart said.
“The awards provide an opportunity to showcase the fantastic businesses that exist across the region, including Leeton.
“Leeton has traditionally performed well at the awards with Sauce Communications and Southern Cotton both past winners.”
Entries close on Monday and the winners will be announced at a gala event on September 15 in Albury. Recipients can then go on to the state level. For more information visit http://businessannualawards.com.au/Regions/Murray-Riverina.
