Seven games of hockey were played over three days. The Griffith team won three matches and drew three.
The final against Southern Highlands was typical of the whole weekend; play from one end of the field to the other. Griffith dominated because of their stronger hitting but unable to score despite multiple short corners.
At the end of the final, it was 0-all and both teams came together to have drinks on the field before receiving their joint championship trophies.
Griffith’s trophy was accepted by Axtill who said that this year was her 50th consecutive year of hockey, and last.
Janet played for Griffith when they first went to masters 22 years ago.
