Leeton's 2017 Stroppy Jalopy off without a hitch

Damien Black had only good things to say after the fourth annual Stroppy Jalopy was held in Leeton on Saturday.

The event saw car enthusiasts come out of the wood work over the weekend and support the unique family day and charity car event.

Cars and their owners of all types braved the weather came out of the protection of sheds and garages.

Entrants numbers and spectators were up on last year to the delight of Mr Black.

This year Mr Black made some changes to the layout giving the course better flow and making for better viewing for onlookers.

Mr Black was taken aback with the feedback he received from excited participants and onlookers over the weekend.

“Everyone had nothing but complements to give at the event and there were smiles all around,” Mr Black said.

“Events like this are great for the area.

“Stroppy Jalopy is a good place to escape and have some fun.”

Onlookers were blown away with the quality of vehicles participating, and owners were only too happy to show off their knock about and show quality wheels.

Mr Black was sure to make it a family-friendly outing, with food stalls, craft stall, vintage push bikes and many vehicles of all types to admire.

Next year will mark a milestone for Stroppy Jalopy being its fifth anniversary.

Mr Black and his loyal group of volunteers have some big things in the pipe line and are looking forward to the celebrations.

“I have a great bunch of people who volunteer their time not only on the day but throw out the year.” Mr Black said.
