United rode a series of well-balanced attacks - and an even spread of goal scorers - to the invaluable victory, despite Adam Raso again sitting out through suspension.
The local side burst out of the gates with a pair of quick-fire goals within the first 15 minutes, making their intentions clear against the shellshocked visitors.
Warriors provided some resistance in the second-half with striker Nazar Yousif finding the back of the net on two occasions.
But they were no match for Leeton, who rode goals from Jarrod Sillis, Anthony Trifogli, Michael Di Lorenzo Julian Mandaglio to victory.
Mandaglio was excellent filling in up front and was awarded man of the match honours for his efforts.
United captain Joey Fondacaro said the victory displayed his side’s enviable cohesion.
“I thought we gelled together well and was pretty happy with the performance,” he said.
But the Leeton leader said his side proved it still had plenty to work on in order to make a genuine push at the business end of the season.
“We’ve talked about needing to improve our intensity and structure heading into finals,” he said.
“When we lose our structure we often give ball away easily, and that can result in goals being scored against us.”
The victory proved particularly crucial for the men in red and black after Cootamundra, a side which has been breathing down Leeton’s neck, claimed a surprise victory over in-form Tolland at Rawlings Park.
United now travels to face Junee at Burns Park on Saturday night.
The ninth-placed Jaguars had not won a game all season before its 4-2 victory over cellar-dwelling Young on Sunday.
But Fondacaro has vowed not to take them lightly.
“We always talk about giving our opponents respect, no matter which team it is,” he said.
“There isn’t a team in this competition that can’t win on their day.”
Leeton will be bolstered by the return of Adam Raso for the clash, and hopes to have Nick Trifogli back from his hamstring injury.
