The club traditionally only holds two meetings a year, but has been given a transfer event from Albury.
To be held on Tuesday at the Leeton Jockey Club, the seven-card program will have all of the usual facets associated with a meeting.
Book makers, canteen and bar facilities will be available and racegoers have been urged to head along.
“We’ve been fighting for quite a while to have a third meeting here every year … it’s very hard,” club president Grant Fitzsimon said.
“This one that has been transferred to us from Albury has something to do with their track. I don’t know much about it, but it is good news for us.”
Through many years of hard work the club has now established itself so it can hold these meetings with not much notice.
Fitzsimon got the call last week. “We’ll have a weekend of hard work ahead of us, but it’s virtually all in place,” he said.
“The track is looking great. It should be a really great day.
“It’s great for our club to be chosen to hold this transfer meeting. We hope to be given an opportunity like this again.”
Mr Fitzsimon was unsure when the first race was scheduled, but said around 1pm on Tuesday was the likely start time.
