A 42-18 win over the Roosters on Sunday wasn't enough for Yanco-Wamoon to get over the line into this year’s finals series.

In what was a solid display of football from the Hawks at Yanco Sportsground, it did leave many wondering “what if?”
However, it wasn’t to be and the Hawks finished the season in sixth position.
Assistant coach Phil Puntoriero said it was disappointing not to make the finals, but he was happy the side could finish on a positive note.
“Obviously we would have liked to get there, but as I’ve said when you’re relying on the results of other teams, you’re not in the best position,” he said.
“The boys were pretty positive after the game, so hopefully we can get them thinking about next year and not have them drift off in the off-season.
“They did play well for about 70 minutes of the game on Sunday … we were pretty happy with how they played.”
While first grade won’t make an appearance in the finals, the club’s other four teams will be.
Reserve grade and the under 18s both finished on top, while the under 16s held onto third and league tag fifth.
The league tag side will play the Greens on Saturday in the elimination final, with the under 16s to play Yenda on Sunday at Lake Cargelligo Sportsground.
