Those skills were put to good use last week when she was the MC for the official launch of the Sydney School of Entrepreneurship (SSE).
Mrs Sayer-Roberts was appointed to the board of the new school by the state government thanks to her wide-ranging skills and career progression.
She currently runs a public relations company that handles many large clients and its headquarters is Leeton.
The launch was attended by leaders of government, education and start-up communities, as well as the school’s first cohort of students, who are known as “The Navigators”.
NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro cut the ribbon to officially open the facility.
“The launch of SSE is an incredible milestone for entrepreneurship not just in NSW but across Australia,” Mrs Sayer-Roberts said.
“It’s been fantastic to support CEO Nick Kaye and his team in the development of the school over the past six months.
“To be asked to host the formal launch with the Deputy Premier and other distinguished guests was an unexpected, but wonderful honour.”
The SSE is a partnership involving all 12 tertiary institutions in NSW and was backed by a $25 million government investment.
“Located in Ultimo’s thriving cultural, educational and entrepreneurial precinct, this new central headquarters and campus will be home to classes, workshops, lectures, and meetings on entrepreneurialism for students from across NSW,” Mr Barilaro said.
“When fully operational, at least 1,000 student entrepreneurs each year will participate in SSE courses and activities during their degree or TAFE program, with many more taking part in a program of co-curricular activities including workshops, hackathons, educational boot camps and networking events.”
During the event, Mrs Sayer-Roberts also had the pleasure of acknowledging fellow Riverina entrepreneur Luke Piccolo during the proceedings.
Mr Piccolo, a Griffith native, worked with TAFE NSW cookery students to design a special menu for the launch that showcased NSW ingredients, including Murray Cod.
