The Leeton Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold a “mix and mingle” evening aimed at businesses of all varieties, no matter their size. 

It will be a social, laid back occasion, with the chamber to also take the opportunity to “reintroduce” itself to the community. 

All members will be present on the night, with prominent business owners to speak how their journey. 

Many businesses in Leeton have expanded to huge markets, including globally and the idea will be for participants to grab hold of these tips by networking and finding out how they too can launch or own a successful enterprise. 

Chamber president Jodie Ryan said the NSW Chamber was on board for the event.

“You don’t even have to be a current business owner to attend,” she said. 

“It’s for everyone … whether you’re starting out, you already own a business or you’re looking to do something now or in the future. 

“The idea is to showcase what the chamber can do to help and how the NSW Chamber can assist too. 

“When I first (joined) I had no idea just how much both the local and state chambers can offer businesses. There’s a lot of services.”

Many believe the chamber to be a “figurehead” group, but it can provide many opportunities and it’s not just for retail businesses. 

Mrs Ryan said Leeton businesses continued to punch above their weight. “Business is booming, particularly when it comes to the different industries,” she said. 

“We have such a variety of businesses in our town that are all doing well.”

This was showcased when the Murray-Riverina Business Awards finalists were announced this week. Lynsey Reilly Communications, SunRice and Southern Cotton were all named as finalists.
