AS THE AFL Women’s League showed, Aussie Rules is a sport for all genders.

With that in mind, the Leeton-Whitton Crows have been holding girls Auskick this season for those aged between four and seven and eight and 12.

The former finished their program recently and co-ordinator Caryn Deaton declared the initiative a success.

“It’s been really popular,” Deaton said.

“We thought we would just try it out this year and see how it went.

“I definitely think we’ll be doing it again.

“We had a lot of the younger girls who play netball wanting to do both, so this was a good way to get started.

“The numbers throughout (the program) have been fantastic.”

The eight to 12 years age group will also be finishing up soon. “We want to thank everyone who has been involved and for the support,” Deaton said.
