The Black and Whites were the form team for most of the season finishing the regular season with the minor premiership.
The Tahs were the team to beat during the second half of the season and have a tough run into the grand final.
Coach Chris Hanneman feels this will serve his side well.
“In the last six weeks we have played TLU three times, West Wyalong in West Wyalong and the Black and Whites,” he said
“We have definitely earned our spot in the grand final.”
In the last meeting between the two sides, there was little to separate the side with a Steven Broome field goal giving the Panthers a one-point win.
Hanneman knows with the predicted forecast it will be better to hold the ball than to be defending.
“It looks like it will be a pretty warm day on Sunday,” he said.
“We know that it will be more enjoyable to be to ones attacking rather than defending.”
Hanneman knows his side are going to have to be alert to the big game players from the Black and Whites.
“Going on the last meeting the two Charles brothers were good with Kodie controlling the middle and Josh on the edges,” he said.
“The Broome brothers in the halves will also be dangerous.”
If the Waratahs were able to to take home the premiership on Sunday, it would be their third in four years
Black and Whites coach Craig Morriss know the added aspect of a local derby will add to the atmosphere of grand final day.
“We are ready to go and really excited for Sunday,” he said.
“Local derbies are always good, and it should be a good result for the group as well.”
Morriss is expecting a tough game if the previous results are anything to go on.
“They are always dangerous no matter where they are on the field,” he said.
“The gap between the two sides has been lowering in every game this season.”
Morriss also wanted to pay credit to those at the club whose hard work has seen the club saved from folding only a few years ago.
“To come from where we were is a really great achievement for the club,” he said.
“It has taken everyone in the Black and Whites family to change the environment, and it has really worked wonders.”
It is sure to be an electric atmosphere at EW Moore Oval come Sunday afternoon with the game slated for 3.30 start pending any extra time in the previous games.
