The Murray-Riverina Regional Business Awards were held in Albury on September 15, with Leeton business Lynsey Reilly Communications (LRC) picking up the excellence in small business honour.
While SunRice was named the Murray-Riverina employer of choice for its Deniliquin mill operations.
Mrs Reilly was unable to attend the gala awards night in Albury due to a family funeral, but Southern Cotton, who are one of her clients, accepted the award on her behalf.
“Just under five years ago, I started LRC in my little home office and never thought it would become the business that it is today,” she said.
“I’m so lucky to be surrounded by an amazing team and wonderful clients.
“We have put an exceptional amount of work into the LRC business strategy in the last 12-months and the results are something I’m really proud of.”
The win for SunRice recognised the strategies and initiatives implemented by an employer that create a positive impact for both employees and, more broadly, the organisation.
SunRice board member and Mayrung rice grower John Bradford accepted the award.
“Being named the employer of choice for the Murray-Riverina region is testament to the positive, safe, inclusive and diverse culture the team at the SunRice Deniliquin Mill has built,” he said. “Congratulations to the team … (they) have worked closely with employees to improve the business.”
