Mr West is returning to town in October for the Leeton Chill and Grill event, which will again takeover Mountford Park as part of the Taste Riverina Festival.
He is most known as the host of River Cottage Australia where he is joined by his boarder collie cross, who unfortunately won’t be making the trek to Leeton.
Mr West was the drawcard at the inaugural Chill and Grill event last year and was excited to be returning again in 2017.
“I love coming to Leeton and to the Riverina,” he said.
“There’s so much wonderful produce there and it really is such a great food bowl.
“I had such a great time (at the Chill and Grill) last year, so I’m really excited to have been invited back again.”
Mr West will be at the festival throughout the day putting on various cooking demonstrations, but he also said anyone who was wanting to have a chat about all things food should definitely introduce themselves.
“As you can see, I love to chat, so anyone that wants to come up and ask me any questions is more than welcome to do so,” he said.
As an added bonus to the weekend, Mr West will be staging a master cooking class, which is open to everyone, but places are limited and do need to be booked prior to the event.
Mr West said he enjoyed teaching people tricks about cooking and said food was the one connector between all humans.
“We’ve been cooking and eating food since the beginning of time,” he said.
“Doing what I do is such a great platform to bring it all together for people.
“Food is part of our physical DNA and it does bring people together.
“I would love to have as many people as possible to join in on the demonstrations and the master class.”
Preparations for the Chill and Grill event, which will be held on October 21.
Stalllholders offering all kinds of different produce and local wares will be taking part and serving up delicious food and drinks to all taking part.
“I really loved seeing all of the families enjoying the day together last year, sitting and eating on their picnic blankets and just having fun,” Mr West said.
“I think it’s a great event for Leeton and it’s a big testament to the organisers such as Matt Gatt for bringing it all together.
“It’s going to be another really good event.”
The Chill and Grill is part of the Taste Riverina Festival, which will feature events across the Riverina and MIA throughout October.
