Nationals candidate Austin Evans last week announced the brigade would be receiving a new category one fire truck, which can carry up to 4000 litres of water.
Mr Evans was joined by NSW Emergency Services Minister Troy Grant in the MIA last week to make the announcement, which also included five new fire stations across the region.
“This is all about helping the volunteers who protect our communities do an even better job,” Mr Evans said.
“This isn’t funding that has suddenly materialised during a by-election campaign, this is dedicated funding that has been on the table since the Budget.”
The NSW government also contributed to an upgrade of the Leeton fire station this year.
