The pair are teaming up to shave their heads as part of a “Do it For Cancer” fundraiser with the proceeds to be distributed where needed within the Riverina.
The two have organised donation tins around Leeton including, the Hotel Leeton where they will be holding the charity shave later this year.
“We’ve set a combined target of $2000 and hope people will be feeling generous around Christmas time,” Miss Halden said.
“In NSW more than 46,000 new cases for cancer are expected to be diagnosed in the new year.”
Miss Halden and Mr Drinan have created posters advertising the event.
“We want to encourage people to come along to the head shave event,” Mr Drinan said.
“We’re hoping to auction off the first shave of the clippers to the highest bidder.”
The idea behind the head shave wasn’t exactly a new one.
“I have always wanted to shave my head for cancer and this year I felt finally brave enough to do it,” Miss Halden said.
“I contacted Matt and he was more than happy to jump on board.
“Neither of us are nervous, but excited for the night and we hope we get lots of people down at the event to help us celebrate the shave.”
The fundraiser will be held at the Hotel Leeton on December 15 from 8pm.
