Men’s Saturday: It was a close affair at the Leeton Golf Club on the weekend as the Monthly Medal tends to bring out the best of everyone’s golf game. Alex Podres came out on top over Rod Emerson on a count back, both with nett 67 taking out the Monthly Medal. 69 was good enough to take out A grade Jason Nardi just edging out Dave Doig who had a respectable 70 nett. Barry Irvine had a very solid 68 which was good enough for C grade, Don Piltz was the runner up with 70. NTP’s were 4th Scotty Turner, 6th Brett Robertson, 13th Shane Smith and 15th Geoff McKenzie. A grade Drive and Chip was Bailey Stanmore, B grade Rod Emerson and C grade was A Skinner.
Women’s Saturday: Chrissy Smith smiled her way all the way to a Monthly Medal on the weekend as she shot a very solid 66 nett outdoing her playing partner Jacquie Walsh among others who came in with 68 netts. Division 1 was taken out my Walsh, runner up Helen Robinson had 72. Division 2 was a close affair for second with Helen Webb betting Elaine Henman and Deirdre Ross to take the voucher. NTP: 4th Henman and 15th Nola O’Reilly.
Whackers: Peter Kelly showed he’s still got what it takes taking home the victory getting over Harry Soley on a countback, both with 40 points. NTP’s were: 6th Bailey Stanmore, 13th Lindsey Fysh and 15th M.Wynn. The pro was happy coming in with 38 points and only had to give out three balls. Ball comp went out to Brad Hillyer with 37 points.
Ladies Wednesday: Club Champion Viv Burton returned to form last Wednesday taking out A grade with 38 points just edging out Janelle Sullivan on a countback. Kath Meagher was the victor in B grade with 38 points just getting over a name that is seeming becoming more prominent in these write ups Elaine Henman with 37. Star Junior Tally Rudd took out the 4th NTP and the 15th was Betty Elsom.
Monday Veterans: Deidre Ross took out Mondays Vets in a very close contest with plus 1 for the Par event. Deidre pipped Willi Pilosio on a countback and Kev Hollis was third with square also on a countback. NTP to Norm Harrison on the 4th.
