The evening paid tribute to the growing role the Australian rice trade plays on the world stage.
It was also an opportunity yo highlight the Federal Government’s ongoing support for SunRice to expand into new markets.
The event was attended by rice growers, parliamentarians and industry officials alike. Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce and Member for Farrer Sussan Ley were among those in attendance.

Mr Gordon spoke about the impact that Sunrice had in the MIA.

“Our success around the world demonstrates the important contribution Australia’s rice industry makes to the country’s export economy,” he said.
“As well as regional NSW, where SunRice proudly employs almost 700 staff, predominantly in the Riverina.”
The menu of the event itself internationally inspired and designed to showcase Australian rice.
“SunRice and the Australian rice industry is well positioned to respond to changes in trends and tastes,” he said.
“In regional New South Wales we now manufacture a range of value-add products such as microwave rice, ready-made meals and rice cakes, and have developed a Low GI rice and healthy option products.”
