In each district, the committees work with facility managers to identify needs within the community.
MLHD Community Engagement Manager Setchen Brimson said the committee provided a voice for Leeton and its surrounding areas.
“The members of the LHAC provide a voice for the Leeton district community and will play a key role in helping us to better engage with and understand community needs,” she said.

The push for community engagement comes on the back of the return of maternity services to Leeton following a long community campaign.
Facility manager at Leeton Hospital Anthony Naylor said it was a great way to advocate for Leeton
“It’s a great opportunity to get involved in planning for future health needs, advocating for local people and helping us to create a healthier, happier community.”
Member for Murray Austin Evans also encouraged Leeton to get involved.
“I encourage anyone who has an opinion about health or health services to put their hands up for the committee. This is the best mechanism to do that through.”
Interested residents are encouraged to attend a community meeting on Thursday, December 7 from 12pm at Leeton Hospital.
