The local Mother's Union branch will host a prayer service at 12pm on November 25 to pray for victims of gender-based violence.
Mothers Union’s Marcia Ashworth said the event is now it in its third year.
“It’s a worldwide moment where everyone from the Mother’s Union prays against gender-based violence,” she said
“It’s a huge problem and a very common one.”

The Leeton group are involved in collecting bundles of toiletries for women at local shelters and charities.
Fr Robert Murphy will conduct the service. He said the numbers of those affected by domestic violence were staggering.
“We need to bring it to our attention that it really does go on. We live in our own little bubble sometimes.”
Mother’s Union is part of the worldwide network that has more than four million members, encompassing members of both genders.
