Griffith, though, will be bolstered by the return of captain Haydn Pascoe, who thinks his side can extract revenge and regain the prized trophy in Leeton.
“We’re not far off the mark, it was a very close run thing last time,” he said.
In the Creet Cup clash at Exies on November 12, the Wolves won by five wickets, hauling down Griffith’s solid total of 196 in the final over.
The Wolves needed six runs off the last over and snaffled the runs with two balls to spare.
“Although I didn’t play in that match, I heard our fielding let us down”.
“190-odd was certainly defendable, but a think we dropped a couple of catches”.
“They say catches win matches, so if you don’t catch them you lose”.
Haydn said he’d most likely look to bat first if he wins the toss.
“You always like to get runs on the board.Though there’s a bit of rain forecast this weekend so we’ll have to see”.
Leeton will again rely on runs from their solid middle order, especially the inform Rohan Rehwinkel and Jarryd Day.
The pair steered Leeton to victory two weeks ago with an unbroken 44 run stand.
Griffith also rely on the strength of their lower and middle order.
Big hitting Ryan Greenaway’s half century from No.8 on the weekend catapulted his side to the respectable total of 196 in the November 12 clash.
Leeton will be hoping bowler Hugh Collins can produce another economical, wicket-taking display, after taking 2 for 27 off his nine overs.
Teams for this Sunday’s match are as follows.
