In a flyer sent to residents, Leeton Shire Council has advised residents it has been busy planning and investigating design options for the town’s new splash pad, which will be installed at McCaughey Park next year.
Council has received a suitable design layout and a cost estimate for the equipment and is now seeking further pricing on other important elements such as electrical, plumbing, concreting and fencing.
A report will be tabled at the December ordinary council meeting to be held on December 13.
All residents have been encouraged to attend, with the agenda for the meeting to be available late on Friday, December 8.
“Should council resolve to proceed with the proposed design and costings then the splash pad and associated components will be ordered,” mayor Paul Maytom said in the flyer.
“There is a minimum 12 week delivery turnaround once the splash pad is ordered as the equipment comes from overseas.”
All going well, the splash pad should be in and operating around May/June next year.
