After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Stags, through Matt Dedini and Nathan Tang, looked to take the game away from the Phantoms early with a dominant opening stand.
The pair put on 93 for the first wicket before Tang was finally dismissed by Chris Hopkins (1/23) in the 24th over and the Phantoms would have hoped the fall of wicket would slow the scoring from the Yanco side.
However, with Hugh Collins coming out to join Dedini and the pair kept the score ticking over with another determined partnership.
It would be another 58 runs before the Phantoms were able to take another wicket but this time they were able to get both Collins (31), who was run out by Steve Weckert, and Matt Dedini (56), who fell to the bowling of George Anthony (1/25).
Jameson Booth (19) added some quick runs before he fell to the bowling of Charlie Reneker to have the Stags on 4/176 with three overs left in the innings.
Late contributions from Angus Boulton (10) and Kyle Pete (5), who were both dismissed by Reneker, saw the Yanco side reach a final total of 6/192 off their 40 overs.
The Phantoms needed to make a positive start if they were to have a chance of chasing down the target and the loss of early wickets made a difficult task that much harder.
When Reneker (1) in the second over to the bowling of Dedini (2/27) with the score on two the side needed to rebuild early and looked to do so through Hopkins and Haydn Emerson (8).
It was short lived with Hopkins (10) falling to the bowling of Dedini while Tim Rolls (0) followed closely behind when he was bowled by Booth (4/18) to have the Phantoms on 3/15 after 4.2 overs.
It took until Jordan Camm and Steve Weckert came together for the Phantoms to find a partnership the side could build from.
The pair put on 40 for the fifth wicket before Camm (23) was stumped off the bowling of Collins (1/47) with Anthony (5) following close.
Weckert again tried to rebuild his side’s innings with Richard Keith (13) with the pair getting the Phantoms to 119 before Keith was caught by Grant Forrest off the bowling of Kyle Pete (1/20).
Weckert took the leading role putting on 17 runs with John Hill (3), but when Hill was dismissed by Forrest (1/6), it signalled the end as the Phantoms lost their last three wickets for five runs to be bowled out for 141 in 36.1 overs to hand Yanco a 51-run win.
The Stags are now within seven points of first-placed L&D and take on LSC Colts next week while the Phantoms play Narrandera.
