That drama is intensified when, in faith, we believe that God has become the word made flesh in Jesus.
No ordinary birth here.
Rather, through the nativity of our Lord all history is permanently changed.
And what happened in the heart of Mary?
The mysterious encounter with the Angel Gabriel has now reached its conclusion.
A son was born of Mary, the Messiah of the world.
Certainly Mary experienced joy, the joy of new life, followed by continued wonderment as to what it would all mean.
On this Christmas day we are invited to consider and enter into the mystery of new life.
Jesus, now dwelling among us in Word and Sacrament, will transform our lives if we truly believe.
And if our belief is strong, we will not only see the glory of God but also become agents of his divine radiance.
