The talented 22-year-old who plays Oscar MacGuire on the show was front and centre when the cast took to the stage to accept the award.
His first Logie experience, Jake said being surrounded by such great Australian talent made for a huge eye opener.
"To go up and accept the award with my colleagues was a great experience," he said.
"It just shows Home and Away is still a great drama that a lot of people still get enjoyment from watching."
This was the sixth time Home and Away has won the Logie category.
Veteran actor Ray Meagher accepted the award saying he was proud to win against stiff competition from the one hour a week shows.
"We didn't think we'd have a chance," Mr Meagher, who plays beloved character Alf Stewart, said.
"But we're delighted to be here."
Mr Meagher made mention of critics of Australian drama, saying the worldwide cult following of the show demonstrated the talent of all involved in the creative process.
Screened in France, Hungry and Poland, the soap opera has run for nearly 30 seasons, amassing a multimillion-person global audience and launching the careers of the likes of Heath Ledger, Melissa George and Ryan Kwanten.
The award comes after a big year for Jake, who also enjoyed the release of his first feature film Backyard Ashes in November last year.
"I've spoken with a couple of producers," he said.
"But I'm really happy with the Home and Away experience."
