Leeton Preschool held a welcome barbecue for its families and children on Friday night, with the aim of bringing everyone together and showing off the facilities.
The barbecue has been an annual event for the better part of a decade and is a fun way for families, students and staff to get to know each other and begin building bonds that can last a lifetime.
Leeton Preschool director Marie Jacobsen was pleased with the turnout in spite of the day’s rain.
“Its great to see so many people here tonight considering the weather,” she said.
“I’ve got great families … we have lots of family support this year and that’s lovely to have.
“We’re looking forward to the coming year and participating in the SunRice parade. The children have been busy making artwork for it.”
Functions like the welcome barbecue are a good opportunity for parents to get to know each other, their child’s teacher, and is a way for them to support their child’s learning.
