The op shop has recently taken delivery of a rag cutting machine, provided by MI, with income derived from the machine directed to welfare and social support services.
The rag cutting machine assists volunteers to cut cloths into rags, that are then bagged and sold to businesses and customers for various uses.
The Leeton Op Shop is operated by the Leeton Community Care Development.
Chairman Graham Heffer was impressed with the donation.
“We are lost for words about the help MI have provided us with the purchase of the rag machine,” Mr Heffer said.
“This donation means we can support our volunteers and the community by assisting the people using the machine gain new skills, confidence and friendship and gain value work related skills. This will help sustain and grow our business.
“Without this machine it would be very difficult to support our community service workers and work for the dole, so really, MI have assisted to keep these vital programs going.”
MI chief executive officer Brett Jones said the company was happy to help.
“We are part of the community and just one of many business and individuals supporting the op shop,” he said.
