Narrandera Shire Council’s CEO Judy Charlton announced on Monday she would be resigning from the role, but will stay on until April 28.
She said at this stage she wasn’t leaving to seek other employment opportunities.
“At this stage I am not leaving to go to another position, I am working towards retirement, with some possible part-time consulting and locum work for the local government industry,” Ms Charlton said.
“My other reason is to be closer to Melbourne where my family live. It has been a difficult decision and I thank the executive team and all staff for their support and hard work during my time as CEO.” Ms Charlton has been in the role since 2014.
