A MAN was stabbed and woman dragged across a Leeton road during a vicious assault.

A male and female have been charged following the alleged assault in Wade Avenue in the early hours of Monday morning.
About 3.20am, a 41-year-old man and 39-year-old women who live at a motel on Wade Avenue were woken by yelling.
The pair went to investigate and they were allegedly assaulted by a group of five people.
Police will allege the woman was dragged across the road and further assaulted and when the man tried to intervene he was allegedly stabbed.
The group fled the scene and emergency services were contacted.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the pair at the scene before the man was taken to Wagga Wagga Rural Referral Hospital.
The woman was taken to Leeton District Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
Officers from Griffith Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.
Following those inquiries, about 4.40pm on Monday, a 32-year-old man and 18-year-old woman were arrested on the corner of McCudden and Marcus Street in Griffith.
They were both taken to Griffith Police Station where the woman was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others and affray.
The man was charged with reckless wounding in company, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other and affray.
They were both refused bail to appear at Griffith Local Court on Tuesday.
