A TRUCK driver has had a lucky escape outside of Barellan on Wednesday after a fire ripped through his vehicle, blocking traffic for a number of hours.

Griffith Highway Patrol said it appeared there had been some sort of break or failure, which had started a fire under the cabin of the truck.
The 35-year-old male driver, who had pulled over to inspect his vehicle in an east-bound lane outside of the town when the truck went up in flames, was not injured.
he fire quickly took hold and the prime mover and trailer were destroyed by fire.
Traffic diversions were in place until the fire was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW.
The truck and trailer were been towed from the scene.
