However, Leeton shire residents will get the chance to do just that this weekend when the town’s station holds an open day on Saturday.
Captain Graham Parks and firefighters will be on hand to walk residents through the facility, its trucks, as well as put on demonstrations and give out safety information. “It’s a good opportunity to meet firefighters, ask advice and the kids get to check out our trucks and equipment,” Captain Parks said.
Pending the weather, kitchen fire simulator demonstrations will occur, with residents also able to look through the newly-renovated station. There will be giveaways for children, who will also learn about fire safety. The day will be held from 10am to 2pm.
