The Crows went down 62-31 to Mangoplah Cookardinia United-Eastlakes Football Club, but co-coach Caryn Deaton said there were still positives to come from the match.
Deaton rated the Goannas as being the top team of the competition this year.
“They are definitely the benchmark, so we’ll go away and learn from that,” she said.
“We’ve played the top three teams already this season. It’s only early on and we’re still coming together as a side, but at least now we know what we have to work on.” While the Crows have recorded just the one A grade victory so far, Deaton was confident the side would now start to click.
The Crows will enjoy a break this weekend thanks to the representative round being played.
Senior players Tiah Gillespie and Grace Korovata will both be playing in the RFNL under 17s representative side, with Tiah the captain.
Leeton’s Kathryn Bechaz will be the team’s coach.
