Yanco Public School students recently did their fair share of crunching as part of a unique week that aimed to make their more aware of the goodness and benefits of eating fruit and vegetables. They participated in the Big Vegie Crunch where primary schools crunched together to break the record for the most kids eating vegetables simultaneously on May 25.
Acting principal Tarnya Grigg was pleased the event brought more awareness of healthy eating. “The students loved participating in The Big Vegie Crunch,” she said.
“They got to socialise, get out of class and try some new food out in the sun on a cold morning.” Students also participated in activities to further their healthy eating knowledge.
