Congratulations to the students who competed in the South West Athletics Carnival held in Griffith on June 2.
Many placed well in their events and will now represent Leeton High School at the next level of competition.
The school’s Buckley Shield competitors also represented in an exceptional manner and played some good football over the course of the day with mixed results.
The Leeton High secondary chess team consisting of Chevaughn Moore, Maanu Alexander, Zac Fairweather and Taylor Moore defeated Lake Cargelligo in a hard-fought battle of the minds.
Leeton High now moves into round four.
Well done to Nathan Ryan and Angus Crelley who represented Riverina South West in the recent under 15s AFL State Championships.
The team finished sixth overall.
The school wishes the girls competing in the Open Netball Gala Day in Wagga and the Riverina Cross Country competitors the best of luck.

THE dynamic LHS careers program continues to go from strength-to-strength.
On May 31 Sally from Centrelink in Leeton delivered a presentation to parents and senior students.
She informed them of what financial assistance can be utilised to support students attending university, undertaking a traineeship or apprenticeship and also financial aid for those living away from home while studying.
This information session was useful and many questions were asked and clarified.
On Tuesday evening there was a careers expo Q&A forum as a prelude to the Western Riverina Careers Expo on Wednesday.
This information session provided parents and students with the opportunity to hear from the Universities Admissions Centre about the processes involved in applying for admission to undergraduate courses at participating institutions.

Legally Blonde Juior rehearsals are in full flight as performance dates loom near.
Matinee sessions are fast filling as are the evening sessions on June 23 and 24.

JUNIOR mid-course exams have now concluded.
Reports will be available to students in the last week of this term on June 27 at parent/teacher Interviews held in the library from 6.00pm.
This is a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with a variety of teachers.

THIS month’s P&C meeting will be held on Tuesday in the library from 7pm.
