A man has been charged over an alleged armed robbery at a hostel in Griffith.

At about 3am on Tuesday, June 27, police allege the 22-year-old man robbed and threatened a 24-year-old man while armed with a knife in a hostel on Scenic Drive.
He then allegedly stole two safes and a car.
Police attached to the Griffith Local Area Command arrested the man yesterday (Monday 17 July 2017) just before 2pm on Watermain Street, Narrandera.
He was taken to Narrandera Police Station and charged with armed robbery, aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence, and take and drive conveyance without consent of owner.
The man was refused bail to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Tuesday 18 July 2017).
Investigations continue.
The alleged incident comes just days after an attempted armed robbery in Narrandera Sunday, an alleged assault and theft at a Griffith restaurant on Saturday, and a spate of incidents in Narrandera recently prompting its mayor to suggest the town is in the midst of an unprecedented crime wave.
