THE theme may have been “old”, but the storytime participants were anything but that this week.

Young residents headed to the library with their parents, grandparents and carers in tow throughout the week.
Wednesday’s session was by far the biggest, with the youngsters enjoying taking part in songs and hearing stories from library assistants Leonie Murphy and Sandra Watson.
With a theme of all things “old” the stories and songs were tailored to match in with this idea.
There was even a display of clothing from years gone by to admire.
Their first story was The Cherry Dress, which talks about a young girl receiving cherry print dress from her grandma for her birthday and posts it to her. It quickly becomes her favourite and she wears it for two summers.
The dress continues to be handed down among neighbours and friends before coming full circle.
Next up was a fun song for all titled This Old Man followed by another story acted out by Mrs Murphy and Mrs Watson.
It was based on the book There Was an Old Mozzie Who Swallowed a Lady.
The craft activity for this month was to create an old man or lady.
Storytime is held on the first consecutive Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of the month from 10.30am.
Weekly sessions are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10.30am.
The library has many activities and events for all ages throughout the week.
