The young male offender stole a women’s purse from the seat of a motor vehicle in Main Avenue, Yanco around 2.20pm on Saturday.
However, he didn’t count on being seen by the owner of the vehicle, as well as another witness.
The witnesses yelled out to the young offender as he went to make off with the purse.
While he started to run away, the victim and the other person who saw the incident unfold were able to give chase and get their belongings back.
Leeton police were called and the 14-year-old boy was dealt with by police.

A VEHICLE parked in Melaleuca Avenue in Leeton was subject to a separate theft over the weekend.
An expensive tool was taken from inside the utility, which was parked outside of a home in the street.
However, there were no signs of forced entry. Police investigations are continuing.

A SHOP front in Pine Avenue had its window smashed sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.
Police are looking into the matter.
