The start of the season always throws up some amazing numbers and individually the best was Joel Crowhurst in his maiden season. Playing for Dude! Where’s my Par “Crowie” dominated the inside 9 for a 10 under 26 nett. He gets the Superwash Carwash tokens as the player of the round. Unlucky players only a shot back on nett 27 were Rennie Simpson, Beryl Coelli and Rachael Bush. Newbies Lizzie Harrison and Rachael Broadbent started on fire also with 27s and Robyn Locke returned to Golf with a brilliant 28. Members who excelled were Tyler Boller 29, Jacqui Walsh, Johnny Rapley, Harry Odewahn and Matt Piper who all had 30s. Players needed 33 or better to get a ball comp ball.
Teams who started the 22-week journey in style included last year’s overall Champions Munchausen’s, The Whymees, Schitnoes and new ladies outfit BTCP. All finished miles under par but players will feel the cut of large handicap reductions for going Deep in the opening week.
Next week, twilighters should refrain from playing rounds on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday only between9am and 2.30pm.
