Both sides went down in their respective round one clashes last weekend, but will look to make amends on Saturday.
To be played at Yanco Sportsground, the Phantoms will welcome veteran Richard Keith into their line up.
“It’s very handy to have Richard coming back in,” captain Steve Weckert said.
“He was unavailable last weekend, so it will be good to have his experience in the team.”
The Phantoms were surprised by the Leeton Soldiers Club Colts last weekend, but Weckert was confident they would bounce back and be a big contender in the 2017-18 season.
L&D CC took on Yanco Cricket Club last weekend, but were easily accounted for.
Weckert was hopeful his side had corrected some of their mishaps from last weekend.
“I thought we bowled and batted pretty well … we just didn’t field well,” he said.
“That’s what let us down.
“Hopefully we can fix that up this weekend.”
The Phantoms have a solid mixture of youth and experience in their side this season and Weckert was aware it would take time for the team to gel together.
“We’ve got some younger players this year, so it’s just a matter of getting them used to the standard of A grade, especially playing on turf,” he said.
On the L&D CC Weckert said they were always a side to be wary of.
“You never know what to expect from them,” he said.
“Even in B grade we always had really good games against them, so there’s a bit of rivalry there.
“Hopefully we can get the win.” The other A grade match will be between the Colts and Narrandera. Yanco Cricket Club has the bye.
