TWO hundred and forty players completed half a lap of the Royal Leeton Golf Course last week in the Twilight Golf Tournament. The course is in great nick thanks to Stocko, Dunny, the volunteers and the continued support of the Shire Council. It’s great to see so many new faces around the place so welcome and enjoy our fantastic facility for as long as you like.

The player of the round for week two went to the Screaming Eagles’ Nathan Jones who returned a nett 25 on his Wednesday night bash out on the front nine. Nathan gets the Carwash Tokens for his efforts and goes to the top of the team as far as talent goes. Joe and Marg Severino have once again come up trumps as sponsors giving the best round of the week a free Car bath for the entire 22 rounds of the tournament.
Other rounds to note came from Reece Maguire who turned the tables on his mate Tiger Boller with a Sublime 29 on Tuesday night.
Daryl Odewahn, Jacqui Herrmann & Kim Shirdon all had 30s, Shayne Smith, Anthony Rudd, Craig Purtill, Blake Spowart, Ryan Mahalm and Byron Warr all had 31s and Matt Sharman, Crusty Russell, Adam O’Callaghan #traitor, Phil Gray, Matty Arnold and Mark Nardi all had 32s and will lose the mandatory four strokes for their fine play. Dylan Holt and Robbie Gifford battle hard also with three under 33s. The ball comp closed out at 34 and better.
Great team performances for the round came from the Screaming Eagles, Swig n Swing, Murrami Magic and the Nob Trains. Nathan Cassilles will have to dig deep when he next returns for the locomotives as missing the first two rounds could fill the fine Jar.
This will be the case for a few teams who have some strict team rules that have consequences when broken.
A few house rules: 1. Purple tees are still on the outside only. 2. Cards need to be fully completed and signed by the Player and Marker. 3. Friday night is not BYO. The Pro Shop is licenced for Fridays for the entire season. 4. There’s no such thing as a GIMME. 5. This Sunday is the JCAD Medley – 4-person team event - Twilighters welcome. 6. The scoring spreadsheet is being updated and will be available later in the week.
