In proving that, the organisation has been quite busy of late since its annual general meeting in September.
A new committee was sworn in, consisting of Ron Hutton as chairman, Jock Hamilton and Tom Knagge vice chairmen, Gary Chambers treasurer, Barry Allen auditor, Don Graham secretary, as well as a further seven other committee members.
Up next for the group was the Leeton Show where various members entered their work in competitions and exhibits.
Don Melville's gardening team took out four first place ribbons and four second prizes in the vegetables and herbs sections.
The woodworking group won champion woodworking and champion recycling awards, with a total of eight prizes.
Some of the efforts from the show were on display at the Leeton Community Op Shop’s big window in Pine Avenue.
Mr Hutton was grateful for the opportunity to showcase the work.
“Thanks to the op shop and the Visitor Information Centre for showcasing and selling some of our products,” he said.
“Both venues promote our ethos and our wares to the community's advantage.” The shed’s Microsoft raffle was drawn on Thursday.
