Instead, Leeton shire residents have been treated to rain and dreary skies.
So far this month 67.6 millimetres of rain has fallen in the shire, with the wettest day on Saturday when 53.5mm fell from the heavens.
There has been showers on and off and grey skies in the days that followed, but residents can now look forward to getting their taste of summer.
This weekend is expected to be summer with temperatures reaching 28 degrees on Saturday and 32 on Sunday.
The hot weather will really start to ramp up after that with Monday’s forecast mostly sunny and 36, followed by a hot 38 degrees on Tuesday.
