The milestone was a real family affair for the Leeton reinsman with the seven-year-old trained by his father Phil and owned by sister Martelle.

He was pleased to bring up with mark, three years after taking up the sport.

“It was pretty good actually,” Maguire said. 

“It’s not something you really chase but it was nice to knock it over.”

He was surprised by how well Beau Cishlom resumed after being plagued by injury.

He won his first two races at Leeton before heading to Menangle and suffering a fracture in his leg.

He returned after seven months before another leg issue sidelined him for a year.

Maguire said the stable took a cautious approach and it has paid off.

“He’s had a couple of nice trials but I wasn’t too confident going in with the barrier draw,” he said.

“It worked out alright.”

It was a night of drama but the eight-race card was completed.

A downpour threatened the meeting before race two and pushed the meeting back an hour.

Race three was then abandoned following a serious injury to Lettuce Reign but after two recent washouts participants were pleased to be back on track.
