The pair are holding a charity head shave for the Cancer Council on Friday night where they will be lopping off their long hair.
They have spent time fundraising and raising awareness of the event in recent weeks in the hopes residents will turn out to support the cause.
Various money tins have been placed around town for donations, with Miss Halden hopeful even more will be raised on the night.
“We’re hoping people really dig deep on the night,” she said.
“People know we’re doing it, we just hope everyone comes along and supports us.
“From what I’m hearing people are keen to donate on the night. People are travelling over, which is really great.”
The money raised will be donated to the Cancer Council and will be used in the Riverina region to support cancer patients, research and other vital services.
The pair both have quite long hair and were expecting a bit of a shock when looking in the mirror for the first time once the shave is all said and done.
Coming into summer, both were wary of having to invest in decent hats and sunscreen.
Mr Drinan said he wasn’t too fussed on how his new style would turn out, with Miss Halden saying she was becoming slightly more nervous as the event drew closer.
“I also think I’m getting a bit nervous because we’ve put it out there that people can pay to actually shave part of our hair for us … hopefully they do a good job,” she said.
The fundraising target for the shave is $2000 and both were hoping it would encourage other young people to start thinking about doing their part for all sorts of charities in the community.
“I think young people should definitely be getting on board with community groups where they can,” Miss Halden said.
“There’s so many worthy causes.”
The fundraiser will be held at the Hotel Leeton on Friday from 8pm with everyone invited to attend and donate what they can.
Residents can also donate online here.
