Miss Mercuri was approached by quest co-odinator Cheryl Whymark to take part, as well as the Light Up Leeton organisation, who are now the committee behind her quest efforts.
Born and bred in Leeton, she thought it would be a good way to participate in an event she has seen so many before her flourish in.
“I was born in Leeton and have lived here all my life, being raised on the family citrus farm,” Miss Mercuri said.
My mum (Rosetta Mercuri) works at Gralee School as a teacher’s aid and I have come to know the children and I wanted to be able to help them in some way.
