In recent times, an education at TAFE has continued to be a popular choice by Leeton shire residents. 

None more so than in one particular field.

The surge in demand for tradies in the electrical field has sparked an influx of students enrolling in electrotechnology courses at TAFE NSW Leeton Campus.

Newly-released figures have revealed the Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician) has emerged as the most popular course at the campus for 2017.

A wide variety of courses, from business administration to tree hazard identification, figured in the top 10 most popular course list for 2017.

TAFE NSW regional general manager Kerry Penton was heartened to see such varied courses being taken up by the community.

“Many of these courses, like eletrotechnology, are being driven by industry demand and because our students enjoy hands-on learning from industry experts,” Ms Penton said. 

“The fact employers trust our training, which can lead to exciting, real-life employment prospects is also a major driver in the increasing popularity of our courses.”

Ms Penton said enrolments for 2018 at TAFE NSW Leeton were open now.
