Hospital staff last year took part in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District’s (MLHD) People Matter Survey and the results for Leeton were scathing.
In every component of the survey there were red marks, indicating a lower score from Leeton compared to any other hospital in the MLHD.
Employee engagement, faith in senior managers, communication and values all had numbers indicating staff were less than happy.
The report also found one in four staff from across the MLHD had been subjected to bullying in the past 18 months.
Every single staff member who works at the Leeton hospital completed the survey.
The areas staff also wanted to see improvement on were in communication and management of change.
MLHD Leeton cluster manager Jenny Tyrrell said the timing of the survey may have had something to do with Leeton’s poor results.
“The timing of the survey coincided with a lot of change at Leeton, including the appointment of a new facility manager,” she said.
“Leeton facility manager Anthony Naylor has now formed a staff advisory group to fine-tune an action plan and work collectively on the results with staff and management.

The survey found overall staff from across the MLHD were having issues with senior management.
Sixty per cent felt senior management didn’t keep employees informed and 63 per cent felt they weren’t being listened to.
However, in some good news for the Leeton hospital. 80 per cent of staff believed they understood what was expected of them to do well in their role and 71 per cent believed heir work group strived to achieve customer/client satisfaction.
