1 Police to crackdown on fog lights
THIS story has been shared far and wide by readers, who were either in favour or against police cracking down on illegal use of fog lights.
In the article Sergeant Steve Mallam of the Murray Cluster Highway Patrol has urged drivers to be aware of using fog lights, with many drivers leaving their fog lights on in summer when there is no fog.
“It is an offence to drive with your fog lights switched on unnecessarily,” he said.
2 Emergency services rush to blaze at Yanco Public School
IT WAS a case of bad news for Yanco Public School during the current school holidays when one of their classrooms was destroyed by fire.
Emergency services were on the scene quickly, but the building was severely damaged.
However, the Yanco and wider community has shown once again in times of hardship they will come together and help out.
The school has received many donations of goods to ensure it’s Little Learners program will be back up and running as usual in term one. Musical items are also needed to help with those lessons. More information about donating can be obtained by contacting the school.
3 Ferrets claim one-day title over Stags
THE L&D CC’s one-day premiership victory over Yanco Cricket Club a week ago landed them up the top when it came to online clicks for The Irrigator. The Ferrets and Stags were the two top teams in the one-day competition all season, but it was the L&D CC who came out on top.
Impressive performances with the bat from Reece Maguire and Daniel Muir ensured the L&D CC got the job done efficiently and effectively. Both clubs have now turned their attention to the two-day format.
4 Severe storm warning for MIA
THE weather has been a hot topic for the shire throughout the second month of summer.
There’s been storm warnings, extreme temperatures in the mid-40s, as well as more mild weather. The mixed basket has ensured residents’ interest continues to be piqued by the forecast this month while they are out and about.
