According to many, the Leeton and Whitton pools were just the place.
Leeton pool supervisor Dennis Irvine said he’d noticed an influx of people over the warmer period, with over 350 people per day making use of the facilities.
“We've had a few particularly strong days since the hot weather spell. There have definitely been more people coming through,” he said.
“I’ve noticed a lot of families passing through and an increase in the amount of BBQ’s.”
Saturday hit a top of 42 degrees, while Sunday topped 43 degrees.
Mr Irvine says the summer has brought out a lot of familiar faces.

“It's great to see a lot of local faces around the pool,” he said.
“The swimming carnivals are ramping up for their carnivals over the next few weeks, so we’re seeing a lot of different groups make use of the pool,” he said.
“The waterslide has also been in high demand … we’ve extended the hours a few times over the last few days.”
According to Bureau of Meteorology there will be little relief from the heat this week. Sporadic rain is set to mix with scorching heat, with Tuesday and Friday both set to hit 40 degrees.
NSW Police warned people to monitor weather conditions in the midst of the hot weather. Among other things, they advise:
- Stay well-hydrated, avoid alcohol and hot or sugary drinks
- Limit your physical activity
- Try to stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day
- Wear light, loose-fitting clothing made from natural fibres like cotton
- Make sure you know who you are going to call (who may need help, and who could provide help to you if needed); make a list of telephone numbers and make sure they are current.
