THIS year at LHS the whole-school focus on literacy will continue with the aim to improve our students’ ability to better comprehend what they are reading and to improve their ability to write.
LHS recognises effective literacy and numeracy skills are essential for individuals to meet the demands of school, tertiary study and the workplace and enables our students to successfully undertake day-to-day tasks and engage meaningfully with their community.
Last year LHS achieved improvement in the key NAPLAN areas of reading, writing and numeracy with more students achieving proficiency in these areas which is very satisfying.

THE annual swimming carnival was held on Wednesday.
Many students turned up adorned in house colours and participation was fabulous.
Well done to all competitors and it was great to see everyone showing lots of team spirit. Students and teachers had a brilliant day. Thank you to the parents who attended to support our swimmers.
